I've often thought about how I've read that all the cells in your body die off and regenerate over the course of a 7-year period, and how that means that 7 years ago, I would be a completely different person in every way.

My friend Mike McDonald (Jr. Gone Wild) told me I should develop that idea into a song - and when a songwriter like Mike tells you that you have a good idea, you believe him.

So... the song is about reflecting back on harder times in your life, and seeing how far you've come.
